About Us
Who We Are
SGXLAN is an organized gaming community in which gamers of all kind come together. We have been hosting and attending LAN parties all around the South Eastern United States
and have now come to start making our LAN's on a larger scale. Officially founded in October of 2007 as Jacksonville Gamers the organization rebranded and renamed as SGX.
We strive to make your gaming experience at our LAN parties to be the best possible. A lot of our community was founded just like any other community, through the internet and gaming.
The best way to explain SGXLAN is to say we are a group of gamers of all kinds that like to get together, play competitively, and above all have fun! We also are periodically invited
to host our LANs at various conventions around the South Eastern United States as well. We are always looking for a fun time and more people to game with on our servers and at the LANs themselves.
Where We Are
SGXLAN has moved from the typical household LANs to the larger scale LANs that we host today. We typically find a hotel or other venue of some sort that can accommodate all of us, which sometimes
can be a lot of gamers! Every time we have a LAN it is a memorable experience that can be seen on everyone's face and demeanor at the time.
What Should I Bring?
SGXLAN is typically a BYOC LAN, which means you will need to bring most of your own equipment. We provide a low-latency professionally managed network (with a full gigabit backbone and state of the art servers),
tables, chairs, network cables and most of the power (if you plan on hooking a multitude of extra peripherals then please bring your own powerstrip). You supply the computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and any
other cables you might need as well as the games!
You need to bring the following:
* Computer/Console
* Monitor/T.V.
* Keyboard/Controller
* Mouse (Mouse Pad optional)
* Power Cables
* Installation CD's and CD Keys (in the worst case scenario)
* Headphones (Microphone optional)
* Spare Power Strip (if you plan on plugging in more than everyone else)
Our Rules
SGXLAN wants to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for your gaming experience and do not like to put too many rules to the test. What we are looking to do is provide a LAN environment which is perfect for gaming and free
of the nuisances that some gamers bring with them. We do have a few simple rules we ask everyone in attendance to follow, which all can be found on our waiver and rules section in the
* Drugs, Alcohol, or other controlled substances are prohibited at the LAN
* Respect other players and their belongings
SGXLAN reserves the right to deny any person to the event at any time. If you are ejected from the LAN for violating our rules or causing a large disruption to the general LAN (other than the normal chaos),
we reserve the right to deny a refund no matter the length of time in attendance.
If you have any other questions regarding our rules or any questions about our upcoming events please feel free to contact an admin of SGXLAN by
e-mailing us at sgxlan@sgxlan.com, private messaging an admin,
talking to an admin via ventrilo, or at the time of registration. If there are any
